Introduction: Military Manage Fleet

What is a fleet
A fleet is a group of ships. If you have 10 systems, then you may have up to 10 fleets. One system can only have 1 fleet of ships. Every different fleet will have different stacks and amount of ships depending on how you arrange them. When you build ships you have to choose which system's fleet you want to build to. You also can move your desired amount of ships from one fleet to another.

Now, having stronger fleets at different systems will effect how well you defend that system or your success level on attacking and capturing planets for that system when you attack. Bear in mind that only the top six ranking of your fleet will go into battle while defending or attacking.

Stacking is very important, this is strategy you have to devise yourself or learn from more experienced players. Different fleets with different stacking (Ships type and amount put into order) will have different results in defending and attacking. It is wise to have stronger fleet in systems you want to attack with or defending your most valuable system.

Disband
Disbanding ships means demolishing your available ship. You can choose how many ships in which fleet to disband. You can use this to re-organize your fleet by disbanding unwanted ships. It doesn't use up turns to disband ships.

Try not to disband too many ships because ships are costly to build and disbanding ships is not always advisable. However, there are cases where you will need to disband ships because ships need upkeep or money to support. You'll have to pay for the upkeep of the ships every turn you use. Having more ships than you can afford will bring you into debt. That is a really bad situation that you don't want to get into. Do some calculations before you build or disband your ships.

Reverse engineer ship
Note: This is only available to certain alien races
When you successfully capture ships from a battle, the captured ships will be in your fleet. However you cannot build them later on. You'll need to reverse engineer the ships you have captured in order to build them. Remember, this effect is permanent, you can only reverse engineer a certain amount of ship types from each race. Therefore, we strongly suggest players to plan first which ships you would like to reverse engineer.

Outpost
You can station 2 stacks (different types of ships) in your `Outpost`. Ships stationed here will act as reinforcements if your Lord or any members of your Federation is under attack. This is restricted to:

4 stacks from Vassals
2 stacks from Federation members
stacks must not be bigger than 50% of your Pr

Move
You can move ships from one System to another, or to `Outpost`. Moving ships doesn't use up any turns.

Shipyard

A shipyard is a place where ships are built. Here you will have all your shipbuilding experts that will build the ships you want to build. Before being able to build the ships you need, you will need to research them in the "Technology Research Centre". Only after you have drawn out the blueprint of ships and passed it to the ship experts here in the shipyard, can you choose to build those ships. From the list of ships available for building, you can select the type of ship you want to build.

After Selecting the type of ships you want to build, you will come to an information page about the ship you want to build. There you will find information like ship name, class, power, weapon, hull, upkeep, range, shields, minerals needed and cost of the ships. All this information is essential to understand the ships capability in making up stacking for your fleet.

Special *Fast build, allows you to build ships 10x faster than normal, but all ships will cost more than if you build them normally.

Below is a description of the list:

Name - Name of the ship
Class - This is the classification of the ships.
Power - This is the amount of power each ship will add to your empire's Power Rating
Weapon - Details of the weapon this ship has.
Hull - The amount of damage this ship can take before exploding in battle.
Upkeep - The amount of money you will pay for each of this ship every turn you use.
Range - The attacking range of the ship.
Shield - More precisely known as Defense Modifiers that modifies enemy's weapon damage on this ship.
Minerals - Amount of minerals needed to build this ship
Build rate - Amount of this ships will is build every turn you use building it

Limitations
You can build 6 different types of ships in a particular system, and 2 different types of ships for outpost. Note that outpost means having a foreign outpost where your ships will be on patrol in the area of your Lord's Empire, therefore these ships will not be able to response to defend your empire against any attacks.

You can spend maximum of 30 turns building one type of ship at a single time.

Explore

Exploring is one of the basic non-hostile ways of expanding ones empire by gaining additional new planets.

Exploring
To explore you need to build scouts. Only scouts will explore for new planets, all other ships will be unable to explore for you. To explore click on Military > Explore

Restrictions
The more total number of planets you have, the harder it will be to explore.
There is a limit to how much you can explore on certain types of Systems.
All empires in Damage Protection suffer 40% reduction in exploring efficiency.

Exploring for Multiple Systems
If you have more than 1 System, then you will have to select which system you wish to explore.
First click on Military > Select System

You will then see the scouts in this particular system. If you do not have any scouts you will have to build them (Military > Shipyard). Sending this fleet out to explore for new planets will gain new planets for this system only.

Attack

Attacking is a hostile non-diplomatic means of developing your empire. You can enlarge your empire through battle or lower your opponent's empire. It depends on what strategy you are playing with. Because of this, attackers will have the privilege of choosing the type of attack they want to make on a targeted-unprotected empire. However, there are rules and regulations that you have to follow to attack another empire in the universe.

Different types of attacks

When you attack another empire, you can choose different motives of your attack. It could be you want to capture more planets for your system, destroying or crippling your opponent or just have a look (spy) on your opponent. Different attacking methods will result in different outcomes. You'll get to choose the methods or motive of your attack when you are confirming your attack on your target empire.

Note that defending empires cannot determine the method of the attack. Therefore, all players should beware when they are out of protection.

Reinforcements

The defender's vassals can send reinforcements. To do this, the vassals have to build some ships in `Outpost`. Ships stationed in the `Outpost` will be able to response against attacks. There is a limitation of 4 random stacks that will be chosen from total number of reinforcements.

Various types of attacks

Invasion
Attacker does 100% damage
Defender does 105% damage
Allows 1 Retaliation for the defender
Reinforcements allowed
If wins:
Takes over minimum 50 planets, maximum 4% total planets in the system
Destroys defender's system if system have less than 20 planets
Deals 120% damage to infrastructure

Retaliation
Attacker does 100% damage
Defender does 105% damage
Less Pr restriction for attacking
Reinforcements allowed
If wins:
Takes over minimum 50 planets, maximum 4% total planets in the system
Destroys system is system have less than 20 planets
Deals 120% damage to infrastructure

Recon

You will have a snap shot of the enemy's colony information
Destroys minimum 5 planets
Captures infrastructure

Skirmish

Defender does 220% damage
If wins:
Destroys minimum 100 planets, maximum 5% total planets in the system
Destroys system if system have less than 50 planets
Deals 200% damage to infrastructure

Wining/Losing Battles

When an empire decides to attack another empire, it is always best to attack some empire that is considerably resourceful and profitable to attack. For example, if you attack an empire that has just been attacked. That certain empire might not have good amount of resources to capture or conquer or demolish. It would be just a waste of your empire's resources. Putting empires that have been heavily damaged into protection will give that certain empire time to build up so that it will profit the next attacker or build good fleets to do battle with.

That is why there are rules for attacking in this game.

General Rule
- Players who have suffered too much damage will go under Damage Protection
- You can't attack someone in Newbie Protection
- You can't attack if you in Newbie Protection
- Attacker loses if no ships left
- Defender loses if no ships left and attacker still have ships
- To win the attacker must ensure the defender's fleet must lose more Pr than the attacker's fleet.

Note: Newbie Protection is empire's below 5,000 Pr

Attack - Invasion
An invasion attack is an attack done by empires for any motives it desires.
The rule for invasion:
- You cant attack someone 3x above your Pr
- You cant attack someone if your Pr is 3x above theirs

Attack - Retaliation Invasion
When your empire got attacked no matter you are put into protection or not, you will have the privilege to Retaliate Invade the Invader. You will be given a time frame for the retaliation. Only one retaliation will be awarded for one invasion. You will not be rewarded if you perform a Retaliation Invasion. Be careful as retaliations have to be done carefully.
The rule for retaliation:
- You cant attack someone 20x above your Pr
- You cant attack someone if your Pr is 20x above theirs

Newbie Help

Protection is given to players in order to protect them. This occurs to ensure fair play, and that helpless players will not be attacked. There is two types of protection in this game, one is the Newbie Protection and the other is the Damage Protection.

Newbie Protection
Each player who is below 5,000 Pr will be under Newbie protection. No one can attack those under newbie protection under normal circumstances with the exception of some special projects. Some projects built by the player may disable newbie protection from taking effect.

Damage Protection
DP: Damage Protection

Once a player suffers tremendous amount of losses this empire will be placed under DP. A player can get minimum of 5 to 10 attacks before dropping into Damage Protection. If the amount of percentage of Pr loss per attack is very little then the number of hits to qualify for DP will increase. DP given is a length of time, in which the player can not be attacked during this protection period. DP can expire, the length of protection will be determined by the game speed. The slower the game speed the longer the protection period. DP will be removed when the player builds any offensive ships or launches any attacks.

Advanced DP calculations (Newbies please skip this)

Players gets DP when players has accumulated 10 DP tokens. DP Tokens will be awarded to defending players when they get attacked, as below:

1 token given for losing >= 2% ShipPR
2 token given for losing >= 5% ShipPR
or
1 token given for losing >= 2% planets lost (in a system)
2 token given for losing >= 4% planets lost (in a system)

The DP refreshes every 1 to 5 minutes. When an empire's DP runs out, there may be an additional few minutes worth of DP before the system refreshes and move the effected empire out of DP.
